2020 Merlot

Deep brick red in color with purple-tinged edges and high viscosity. The bouquet opens with pronounced aromas of black plum, cassis, and dark cherry preserves from the 181 clone, complemented by the Q45V14's contribution of blackberry compote and dried blueberry. Subtle secondary notes of freshly turned earth, tobacco leaf, and graphite.

On the palate, this Merlot displays excellent structure and complexity. The 181 clone provides elegant tannins flavors of black fruit and mocha, while the Q45V14 clone adds density, concentration, and distinctive blue fruit elements. Mid-palate reveals layers of espresso, dark chocolate, and black olives woven through the rich fruit core.

The finish is impressively long and balanced, with polished tannins and integrated oak spice our regional trademark. The 2020 vintage conditions have yielded exceptional phenolic ripeness while maintaining freshness. Drinking beautifully with 4 years of bottle age and will continue to evolve over the next 10 plus years.
